Kettles

Limescale

If dealt with regularly limescale wont actually do any damage to the kettle, however after an extended period of time lime scale can build up and start to make the kettle look horible & reduce its efficency. Simply fill the kettle with water until all the affected areas are covered and set the kettle to boil. Once it’s finished I’ll add white vinegar (1/4 of the water in the kettle) and watch as the scale fizzes away in front of your eyes. Leave overnight, empty, wipe out, refill with water, reboil, empty, refill, reboil, make tea.

Remember to unplug the kettle before cleaning it!

Plastic kettles should only need a wipe down with warm soapy water - don't use anything abrasive or it will scratch the surface. Discoloured marks may improve after rubbing them with a cut lemon.

Metal kettles will benefit from a clean with soapy water then a lovely buff with a microfibre cloth to banish streaks.
