How to Clean a Marble Top or Table

Cleaning marble tops requires caution and special care because Marble is very soft and prone to acid damage.

Remove all items from marble table or marble countertop, with a dry clean soft cloth, clean the marble to remove debris and food crumbs.

If there is lots of oil on marble surface from cooking, take a clean cotton towel and wet it with some acetone found at a hardware store and wipe marble surface.

Use a neutral pH non rinsing marble cleaning product available from specialty natural stone supplies supplier.  If neutral cleaner is not available, mix one teaspoon of non citrus dish washing liquid in a gallon of warm water, wet marble surface with mixture, give it few minutes and scrub marble with a soft white pad.

Squeegee the excess solution and with a new wet clean cotton towel,  wipe surface to rinse the remaining soap off.

With a dry cotton towel, buff marble surface.
